stillness and bliss

{lake barcis}

is breathtaking

i've heard rumors of such

but i had to investigate myself

so

like any good parent to four-pawed creatures

would do 

on a nice weather day

we loaded up the pups

and headed 

about thirty to forty-five minutes up the the road

and 

discovered

{lake barcis}

i am not a fisherman

but i was quite jealous of this man fishing

he looked so relaxed

lake barcis 

can best be described 

as peaceful

i caught myself walking quietly 

so not to disturb the silence

or the ducks

even the ducks had that look in their eye

like "shh.... don't you know this is a quiet place"

even admiral enjoyed the quietness

however he became quite bored with it

the highlight of his trip was the gelato shop

filled with kiddos begging to play with him

admiral and maik were good sports

posing for pictures

and more pictures

i must remind myself maik was trained to attack

don't ask to much from him...

i want to make it known

right here

right now

i've found my retirement home

see that white house

that's it! 

my future home

hey a girl can dream!

after an hour long walk

around the lake

and a hundred or so pictures later

we decided to say 

"arriverderci" 

to lake barcis 

and like any good parent

to our four-legged creatures

we

watered our pups

and headed to the gelateria!

chickens, ducks, dresses... oh my!

it's been awhile since i've posted

and for that i do apologize

i was pretending to be a nurse

and take care of my husband

but have no fear he survived a minor surgery

despite my care giving skills

to celebrate his recovery

and survival

we decided to go to 

festival di primavera

spring festival

in sacile

isn't this town lovely?!

having no idea what to expect

we came with open minds 

and saw everything from 

clothing

to knives
to robot lawnmowers

yes friends this mower mows by itself!

then there were chickens

a lot of balloons scattered the sky

and of course

i got gelato!!

the sun is shining in aviano 

and its a beautiful day

happy sunday ya'll

i'm going to go outside and soak up the sun

rediscovering myself

i had a life

back in good ol' oklahoma

a life

i was 'settled' in

a life

i enjoyed
 

very much so i mean look at these faces! 
that's lovin' life!!

and like any happy military wife

i forgot

that we were military

and

that one day we would move

and 

my life as i knew it then 

would have to start all over again

kenneth had a job

it's the reason we moved

and 

i was given the job

to rediscover myself

it's almost been ninety days since we've been here

and in ninety days

i've not wallowed

i've not pouted
someone should seriously give me a cookie!

i seeked life

and 

smiled 

even though there were moments

where i secretly thought 

about jumping on the nearest plane out of here

in my short time here

of being submerged into the 'military lifestyle'

i had avoided like the plaque at our previous base

i've met many woman

like me 

that 

have rediscovered themselves

they've reinvented who they are

they've found new loves

new passions

new careers

and 

smiled

through it all

a year ago

i would have never seen myself in the classroom

and now

i have found that a classroom 

isn't so bad

today's youth 

while they make me raise my eyebrows
at times

they aren't so bad

and

that my new life

i might just get use to

although i'm secretly trying to remind myself 

it's only four years

and then i will have to start over

i've come to appreciate 

the mililtary lifestyle

and 

i have a new found respect 

for these women who 

have reinvented themselves

every four years

it's a strength 

that all too often gets overlooked

between 

deployments,

kids,

pcsing,

crisis,

and the other duties of being a military wife

so 

happy friday y'all

this military wife 

is going to enjoy a good book

a glass of wine

because

my new lifestyle

has kicked my hiney this week!!
